The team is fully staffed to help meet the strong demand for Cylance’s groundbreaking cyberattack prevention technology throughout the region.
Based in Sydney, the new appointments to the Cylance APAC team include;
• Mr. Andy Solterbeck, a globally recognized expert in security and systems management with over 20 years of experience, has stepped in as the Regional Director. Prior to joining Cylance, Andy was the Senior Vice President of Business Development for Telstra Software Group. At Telstra, he was responsible for leading the product team for Managed Services and Industry Solutions. He previously served as General Manager for RSA in ANZ and as CTO of SafeNet, based in Baltimore.
• Mr. Greg Singh has joined Cylance as regional Director of Sales Engineering, bringing to the role more than 20 years’ experience in primarily leadership and technology evangelism roles with vendors Splunk, QuintessenceLabs, Blue Coat Systems and RSA, as well as with service providers Optus, AAPT and British Telecom.
• Ms. Hwei Oh has been appointed Director of Marketing and will leverage over two decades of experience in enterprise technology. Most recently, Hwei was Head of Channels and Alliances Marketing for APJ at FireEye and, prior to that, served as Head of Marketing for ANZ at Sophos.
Mr. Solterbeck said, “ANZ is an aggressive adopter of new and emerging technologies, most recently demonstrated with our rapid adoption of cloud and virtualisation. From the discussions we’ve had, the current approach to cybersecurity is undergoing fundamental re-evaluation, as existing technologies are failing our customers. Understanding this market need has validated our strategy for ANZ to be Cylance’s launch pad into the Asia Pacific region.”
“Andy Solterbeck and the new APAC team members are joining Cylance at a time when our preventative approach to cybersecurity is becoming widely recognized as significantly more effective at neutralizing threats. Cylance has recently been positioned as a Visionary in the 2016 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Endpoint Protection Platforms, validating our strength of innovation in the endpoint market,” said Cylance Founder and CEO Stuart McClure. “It’s a very exciting time for us as we build market appreciation and demand across the Asia Pacific region.”
