The MEF (www.mef.net) today announced that the Call for Proposals for the upcoming 3rd annual Proof of Concept Showcase at MEF16 (www.MEF16.com) is now open. The PoC Showcase provides a unique opportunity to spotlight emerging “Third Network” service & technology innovations optimized for the digital economy and the hyper-connected world. The MEF16 global networking conference will be held on 7-10 November 2016 at the Hilton Baltimore Inner Harbor Hotel, Baltimore, MD, USA.

“We are excited at the pace of innovation that we are seeing in the market today and look forward to showcasing the latest advances at MEF16,” said Nan Chen, President of the MEF. “PoC participants are likely to demonstrate numerous examples of game-changing services that provide an on-demand, assured, and orchestrated experience with user-directed control over service capabilities and cloud connectivity. These services will be delivered over more automated, virtualized, and interconnected networks that are powered by LSO (Lifecycle Service Orchestration), SDN, NFV, and CE 2.0 (Carrier Ethernet 2.0) technologies.”

“At MEF16, we look to take innovation to the next level by demonstrating the MEF’s Third Network and OpenLSO (Lifecycle Service Orchestration) initiatives in relation to existing CE 2.0 implementations, OpenCS (Open Connectivity Services), SDN, and NFV,” said Pascal Menezes, Chief Technology Officer of the MEF, “This year’s edition promises to display the latest projects and work areas of the MEF and highlight progress in aligning the ecosystem of standards and open source players to drive the industry forward.”

The Call for Proposals is now available on the MEF16 event website. Submissions close on 30 June. A select number of participating organizations will be announced at the end of August. The MEF encourages a team approach with service providers and network solution providers coming together to spotlight benefits of industry collaboration.
